Description:
OSHA Hazard Communication and GHS Implementation for the HSE Professional will provide an overview that ensures participants have an understanding of how updates to OSHA Hazard Communication and GHS implementation will impact their workplace; the PDC will include workshops in which participants will explore requqirements and develop a compliance action plan.
Outcomes:
Upon completion, the participant will be able to:
- Discuss OSHA Hazard Communication Standard and the general principles of GHS (SDSs and labels).
- Cite OSHA’s proposed changes to the Hazard Communication Standard.
- Review the GHS implementation plans outside the U.S.
- Formulate a training needs assessment and learning plan.
- Develop an action plan for your organization to implement OSHA Hazard Communication and GHS.

- A brief history
- Classification and labeling of substances and mixtures
- SDS format
- Comparison between OSHA Hazard Communication (M)SDS and GHS SDS and labeling
- Group review
- Container and in plant labeling
- GHS Implementation outside the U.S.
- Training requirements and methods which consider adult learning styles
- Workshops
- Develop a training action plan
- Multiple SDS versions or conflicting versions
- How to Read a Label
- Develop a company/organization action plan
- Group Presentations
